Client: Former State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic
Donor: Government of Finland (KGZ-Water III Project is financed by the Institutional Cooperation Instrument (ICI) of the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs)
Period: June 2015 – December 2019; April 2023 - 2024
Project Stage: Since 2015 LIMS is used in three chemical laboratories in Kyrgyzstan
Digilab LIMS is a web-based system for automating laboratory processes such as sample registration, analysis, data entry, and report generation. It supports ISO/IEC 17025-2019 compliance and provides laboratories with customizable modules, unlimited users, and data access via web browsers.
The right to clean air is a human right and is essential for a healthy environment. Conducting environmental research is critical to understanding pollution sources and impacts, guiding effective policies, and ensuring the well-being of current and future generations.- UN Environment Programme
We share a commitment to these principles, which is why we have been dedicated to supporting this product for many years, despite intermittent funding and various challenges. Our belief in the importance of environmental research drives us to ensure that our solutions remain effective and beneficial for monitoring and controlling environmental pollution.
Features
The Digilab Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) provides numerous features to improve the efficiency of chemical laboratories in Kyrgyzstan:
- Order Management: Simplifies order submissions and management.
- Sample Registration: Streamlines the registration process for incoming samples.
- Result Entry: Facilitates the input of analysis results.
- Client Database Management: Maintains a comprehensive client database.
- Document Generation: Automatically creates necessary laboratory documentation.
- Reporting Tools: Generates detailed reports on activities and analysis outcomes.
- Data Search Functionality: Enables quick data retrieval within the system.
- Formula Configuration Module: Allows users to set up formulas for automatic calculations of final test results.
- Compliance with Standards: All calculations and formulas align with current standards for various samples, including air, industrial emissions, surface and wastewater, soil, and coal.
The software incorporates standards such as permissible concentration limits, GOST standards, research methods, value ranges, and calculation formulas. Developed as a web application, users can access the system with a personal login and password, eliminating the need for additional software installations on their computers. The system supports unlimited laboratory connections, enabling each lab to input and manage its specific data, research ingredients, methods, and formulas tailored to their operational needs.
LIMS was developed in close collaboration with specialists from The Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE), taking into account their extensive experience in the field.
